Updates and such...

The race clock is ticking and the big day draws near.

The spot units will be available and the route has been mailed off to create a site with the map so that the units will track on it.

Quite honestly I cant believe all the attention my little race has received and all the generous support from people outside the state. I can hardly get people in my own area to support it, but people from hundreds and thousand miles away willingly contribute to give rise and encourage the fine art of self supported touring.

Remember, On Race day, there will be a riders meeting at 5am. At that time we will give out the spot units as well as a brief tutorial on how to use them. AS well, there will be a "surprise" requirement the day of the race that every competitor will just have to deal with, LOL, its part of the fun folks. Remember to make a copy of the required photography and video checkpoints and to have a camera available. As well as remember to make sure you are as prepared as possible, although the course conditions are not difficult in terms of technical skills, the sheer vastness and the distance you cover will definetely make up for it. As well, what I love most about the route is that you get to experience that "big country, great wide open" feel that is sometimes not easily obtained in our "flat" state of Florida.

I am excited and look forward to seeing everyone at 5am on October 10th for the Mandatory riders meeting. IF anyone wants or needs a place to post up the night before, I am willing to provide camping space in my backyard to help you out and get you out there earlier, if not, you can try to find hotel lodging in Deland which is closest city to the race location. Good luck.

thanks, Looking forward to a great event and a history making ride!!!

Laters,

The NaKeD InDiaN
